Helium backup app error
location: droidradar.com - date: January 1, 1970
So I connected my phone (HTC Sensation xl) to the PC and I pick the apps I wanted to backup. When I press 'backup' it gives me this message..
"An error occured when performing your app backup. A log of the error has been sent to ClockworkMod".
I tried backing up on the internal storage and then Dropbox. None worked but I think it goes the same for anywhere else.
I want to restore my game progress onto my new Samsung galaxy s4 and Helium was suggested many times.
I also prefer no alternatives that involve rooting your phone.
Question about Helium backup app
location: droidradar.com - date: January 22, 2014
I'm new to android, and have a question regarding my backup app, Helium.
I basically know how to use the app, and how to backup/restore my phone.
However, after watching this video:
I've got one question about Helium. In the video, he says: "also, if your phone is non-rooted, you'll need to run Carbon (Helium) desktop installer everytime you reboot your device" (2:41 - 2:48).
I don't exactly know what this means. If I turn off my phone for some reason, maybe if I am at an exam, will I then really have to plug my phone into my computer, and then run the desktop app before my phone can work again?
I would really like some clarification.
Thanks in advance!
Helium backup app, what can it really do?
location: droidradar.com - date: September 6, 2014
I bought the premium version of the Helium app.
I have read as much of the miniscule documentation that I can find.
All that I can be sure of is that it will backup the data for the apps. Kies 3.0 does that...
I do not see anywhere where it can restore the Home Pages to exactly the way I have them now.
The Wallpaper should stay exactly like I have it now. Famous Black only. I hate colored crap and animations.
ie, I want the Folders restored and in exactly the same position they are on the phone.
I want all of the Premium upgrade data retained so that if the phone hiccups, it can be re-imaged to the way it was.
Those of you who have actually used Helium Premium, please tell me what it can, and what it cannot do.

I was testing out this app backing it up to my sd card from internal storage that worked fine then I tried deleting the backed up files but the memory was still gone (1.5GB) so I tried recovering it from the sd card and it took a further 1gb! does anyone know how I can get this data back without deleting apps? Thank you

Backup app settings/phone without problems
location: droidradar.com - date: March 14, 2014
Hello Everyone! I have an HTC One (Black 32GB) rooted 4.4.2 sense 5.5 (not AT&T rom), Rooted with TWRP. I need help for my backups. I have HTC sync which when I use it does save my texts and such, but I want my app settings saved, for example I use Handcent for texting and I have many contacts customized. When I updated to Kitkat I lost all my app setting even though the data was there the settings were not!
Being Rooted, how can I backup my phone and app settings?
I have Titanium but when I use it, it blows my backgrounds away and doesn't leave my phone the way it is when I backup. I can't stand that, why does it change my phone settings? Anyway, what can I use to back up my phone/app settings? Prefer Free.

[Q] Custom Camera app ERROR
location: androidpark.com - date: November 19, 2013
Hello dear XDA Developers. i've begun making an app as a school project and i have come to a stop.
My app is making use of a custom camera to allow some extra functionallty that is needed. i followed the instructions on the "Custom camera" at the developer.android website
now when im trying to test the camera i get the error
"FATAL EXCEPTION: main
Unable to restore Helium backup!

I used the Helium backup app to backup all my apps before flashing my S3 with the stock ROM. I copied my entire internal memory as it is, and pasted it after flashing. This of course included the crucial 'Carbon' folder with all my backups made my Helium.
BUT now I installed helium and it refuses to detect those backups. In 'Restore and Sync' it simply says "No backups were found on your internal storage".
I know this is probably best asked to the Helium developer but I reckon it's a very famous app so someone might be able to suggest a solution here. I've already tried rebooting.
