Update made contacts/phone dialing inaccessible (Virgin Mobile)
location: droidmania.com - date: January 14, 2014
Updated yesterday (bad idea). My phone (Virgin Mobile) is not rooted. After update, when I click on the phone icon or the contacts icon, an error message comes up saying "Unfortunately, Contacts has stopped." I have done factory resets to no avail. After going through the motions with Virgin Mobile, it is sending me a replacement phone. I'd rather not wait. Is there a way for me to rollback to the previous software/firmware? Is the only option to "flash" my phone? Thanks.
Flash to virgin mobile
location: droidradar.com - date: September 27, 2010
I recently bought a droid (1) off of eBay. It has a bad esn, but I was wondering if it could be flashed to virgin mobile's 25$ a month plan, or to sprint relay's 30$ a month unlimited data-only plan. Does the bad esn matter?
FIXED: Can't send MMS? Sprint / Boost / Virgin Mobile APN Settings Problem!
location: androidpark.com - date: July 25, 2012
I think there's something wrong w/ my APN settings. I can send/receive SMS, voice, and data. I can only receive MMS. The only way I've been able to send MMS out is by installing Go SMS Pro and manually putting in APN in the app.
My stock messaging or Handcent can't send out MMS, so I'm thinking perhaps my APN got messed up. How can I verify/correct this?
See fix below!
Unbrick a hard bricked Samsung Galaxy S3 Sprint/ Virgin Mobile
location: droidradar.com - date: November 12, 2013
Hello, (This method will probably work with any sph-l710 samsung Galaxy S3)
Sorry if this thread already exists I spent numerous hours trying to find it. I am new to android and recently learned how to un-brick my hard bricked Samsung Galaxy S3. I bricked my phone by installing a kernel not meant for my device (I know rookie mistake). Through many of these forums and YouTube I was able to figure out how to easily un-brick my device. I am new to this so everything I am posting is all I know.
This post will only cover how to un-brick a hard bricked phone using windows...but if you follow this YouTube link for virgin mobile you can un-brick your soft bricked Samsung Galaxy S3:
This is the video I used to unbrick my phone so if you don't understand my instructions this is the video you should watch
most of my links I got from the video too:
you cannot use the debrick image however in the video so I provided my own here (Link 1):

[ROM][BETA][4.2.2] AOKP Jelly Bean for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 5/2/2014
location: droidmania.com - date: February 2, 2014
This is a beta release of AOKP for the Optimus Elite so please don't expect this to be 100% stable. You may get random reboots and lockups or you may not. Before flashing this rom I recommend you make a NAND backup just in case.
About: (taken from the aokp website.)
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and m

Virgin Mobile Australia Shipping Their S5 In The Next 12 WeeksForeshadowing for the USA??
location: droidmania.com - date: April 28, 2014
i sent this in as a tip but according to virgin mobile's Australian website; they are set to deliver their S5's within the next 1 to 2 weeks, YOU CAN ORDER RIGHT NOW! and they have 2 color options, black and white.
the numbers and figures below are NOT FOR THE USA, for Australia only, and for reference purposes: (and because I know someone will ask, please dont buy a Australian phone, it will not work here)
after choosing a plan on their site, you pay between $13-27 per month for the phone
the more expensive the plan, the less the monthly cost of the phone, so
for example-cheapest plan: $27 for 24 months the phone would cost $648 + $30 per month for the plan (200MB data and unlimited everything else)
most expensive plan: $140 per month phone plan, that includes 6GB of data and unlimited everything else the phone cost is $0. Zero dollars!!
look here on their landing page, in the rectangle with the pause button, and the circles, the S5 click on the 2nd circle:

Galaxy S4/Note 3/Mega Update Profile/PRL/HFA Fix for Sprint/Boost/Virgin Mobile/etc
location: androidpark.com - date: January 29, 2014
Please DO NOT QUOTE this post in your reply. Just post your questions or comments if you have any. I DON'T CHECK OR RESPOND TO PM'S.
Proof of Concept:
Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4's & Note 3's that have been flashed to Sprint legacy accounts such as SERO or Sprint MVNO's such as Boost, Virgin Mobile, Ting, etc. suffer from the fact that you can't launch Update Profile / Update PRL unless the phone has been previously activated in a Sprint LTE account. If the phone has been factory reset using ##786#, the user will also lose the ability to run Update Profile/PRL. As a side effect, you will also get a Hands Free Activation nag each time you turn on/reboot your phone. Disabling/freezing certain apk's to fix the HFA nag unfortunately breaks the phone's ability to run Update Profile & PRL as well. The fix below gets rid of the HFA nag and enables Update Profile & PRL on flashed Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 & Note 3 phones.

Virgin Mobile Rumored Devices Thread
location: droidmania.com - date: March 8, 2013
Well since the one at Howardforums(it was a pretty fun and accurate thread, the thread was created around the LG Rumour Touch release and was closed around the release of the Evo V 4G) closed down, I decided to make one over here. In this thread you can discuss your opinions on what devices you think might come to VM, discuss rumored devices that are stated to come by 3rd party sources, and discuss which device out of the rumored devices is better(the actual phone) and/or more likely to come.
