[ROOT] Virgin Mobile Security Update Now Rooted!!! Thanks jcase!!
location: droidradar.com - date: March 23, 2012
[INFO]Great news everyone!
An incredible developer at xda, handle = jcase, has helped me to root the security udpate from Virgin Mobile![/INFO][WARN]As always, this will void your warranty!
Even though we have tested this on several phones, this could brick your phone, anything is possible! Do NOT use the Touch recovery, CWM-Green, or Multi-ROM recovery, they WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE when installing this.[/WARN][NOTE]This exploit is designed for the March 2012 Virgin Mobile Security Update.
It may work on other phones or firmware versions, but this has not been confirmed.
I had two corrupt downloads/transfers of the Security Update, both were transfered via USB mass storage.
I switched to using adb push update.zip /sdcard/update.zip and finally got a good tranfer.
We had to do a factory reset with the new update installed the first time we attempted this exploit, ymmv.[/NOTE][TIP]The following instructions are for those who have already flashed

Virgin Mobile Supreme (ZTE 9810) update fails
location: droidradar.com - date: April 20, 2014
I've been getting a message stating there's a software update for my phone. I haven't been able to successfully install it.
My phone is rooted. I've removed the annoying VM sound and animation when booting my phone. I may have removed some of the VM bloatware as well, I don't remember.
Is this what is causing the problem and the update failing with this message?
Sprint Device Software Enhancement..install update? yes

Then I just have to 'reboot system now' and the phone boots fine. Sometime later (up to a couple days) - I get the software update available message again.

How To Root HTC Wildfire S A510C CDMA Virgin Mobile!
location: droidmania.com - date: June 7, 2012
First, I'd like to thank Chlinkchlink, Heritz (from XDA), and Superoneclick application for your help and original Root.zip File! Wouldn't work without this!
I Finally found the perfect method to root this Virgin Mobile Device with S-On (Or OFF)! I Spent 3 days on my customers phone at my computer shop figuring a good method without read/write or freeze errors. I Simply EXTRACTED the SUPERUSER and ROOT files from SUPERONECLICK application and PASTED those files into the ROOT.ZIP File provided. Result? The ULTIMATE ROOT.ZIP MODIFICATION! Below are the methods....
Forget to mention... "I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK/BREAK/THROUGH YOUR PHONE OUT THE WINDOW/ Etc!" That can only happen if you fail to backup your device or fail to read my steps and HTC Dev. Thanks and HAPPY ROOTING!
Follow The HTC Dev method to unlock your bootloader. Sorry. Due to rules I am too new to submit links.
Then install clockworkmod recovery like you would through adb on your computer.
Virgin Mobile HTC Wildfire S root to screenshot
location: droidmania.com - date: August 10, 2012
So i decided to upgrade from a blacberry to the HTC WILDFIRE S from Virgin Mobile since it was affordable. At first this phone was cool and all but i wanted to be able to screenshot and the app said my phone require rooting. I researched what rooting meant since this is my first android phone. At the same time i could only have 2 or 3 apps before the phone said it was low on space. ( I've already tried moving the apps to memory card) but it still not enough space.
My question is If i root the phone will i be able to screenshot? Does anyone who has this phone from VM has rooted and been able to screenshot. Since this is my first time rooting a phone and i know it is not easy i want to be sure i will be able to free up some space and will be able to screenshot or does rooting not help with thiss phone at all?
Thank You in advance.

Root success on PCD/Alcatel/Virgin Mobile Venture (aka JukeB)
location: droidmania.com - date: September 10, 2012
Spent some time with giantpune fixing poot and testing on my Venture. Success!
See his post regarding the Optimus Elite:
Optimus Elite root with an apk
Don't forget to click "Thanks" on his post!
Just above the attached files, there is a Sendspace link. That's got the version that will run on the Venture. Or, use this QR code:
Once you have the .apk, install it. An easy way is to copy it to the SD card and use a file manager (I like AndroZip because it's small). The QR code probably skips straight to installing it for you, I didn't get to test it.
Then find Poot in your apps and run it. It will require you to install Ministro II. Once that's done, it will download additional libraries.
Now you're ready to go. Run Poot, tap the button to Poot your phone, install SuperUser, install RootCheck. Then enjoy...install BusyBox, use a file manager to delete/rename that godawful Virgin Mobile boot sound in /system/media/bootsound.wav, whatever you want, you are root.

[Guide] Quick And Dirty Evo 3D/V Root & SOFF (Sprint and Virgin Mobile Only)
location: androidpark.com - date: September 16, 2012
This Quick And Dirty Evo 3D/V Root & S-OFF (QADERSO) guide is for current Sprint and Virgin Mobile (VM) S-ON users, rooted or not, who want to get to a rooted S-OFF configuration of the Sprint or VM ICS stock ROM. There are many other ROM and bootloader options that can be pursued from there.
I know that there are similar guides available already, but this one is going to be simple with no choices. If you want another recovery or aren't on Sprint or VM go check out one of the other ones, because this is the "Model T" of guides and will get you exactly the following configuration, which I believe is the best base for the Sprint Evo 3D or Virgin Mobile Evo V at this time:
1. Rooted Sprint ICS build 2.89.651.2 or VM ICS build 1.13.652.2
2. 4EXT Recovery with Updater or Control App
3. JuopunutBear S-OFF with JBear Sprint ICS (1.58.5858) bootloader or JBear VM ICS (1.57.5757) bootloader
If you want to modify this configuration and know how, feel free, but I'm only
Please help me root my HTC Desire 601 (Virgin Mobile)
location: droidmania.com - date: July 10, 2014
Hi everyone, I'm new here. A recent update that really messed my phone up has lead me to your awesome forum.
I found a thread about how to root and load ROMs to the HTC Desire 601. I was going to paste the link here, but I'm new so the system won't let me.
The reason I haven't done this myself already is that I've never rooted or done any such dev work to a phone before. I don't really feel comfortable as this is foreign territory for me. I just got this phone about 3 weeks ago and was loving it until the KitKat 4.4.2 update which came to me during the 4th of July weekend.
I noticed several very bad changes in the new version:
1) They removed the option of "Hold Home button for menu" in this update, which means I rely on apps to have the "..." option somewhere for in-app settings. This is especially a problem for the LauncherPro app, which is my favorite UI and it seems that the developer has stopped updating the app so we can't expect a fix for the
