A simple app that allows you to use the GPS in your phone to track your movements. Perfect for the runner, cyclist or anyone else that wants the statistics on their wanderings from point A to Point B.
Launch the program and you are presented with your location on Google map. Pressing menu gives you the option of recording your track. The App keeps track of all your normal stats - time, speed, avg speed, elevation gained, max/min grade etc. It also draws your track on the map and creates a elevation profile with a speed/pace overlay.
The App offers neat integration with Google Docs and Google Maps. When you upload your track to Google the activity type you entered in the track details is used to determine which spreadsheet to add the activity too. As you complete multiple activities of one type they all end up in the same spreadsheet AND google generates a summary of your stats. You are not limited to the acti
[SOLVED] Mediatek quad core gps tracking bug solved: very easy.
location: androidpark.com - date: September 4, 2013
One user in endomondo forums (sorry but the link does not work when I put it) has posted a solution for this annoying problem affecting to all mobiles using mediatek 6589 or 6589T processor.
You only need to add a line to the build.prop file located in system directory, so you need to be root, framaroot works fine with this processor.
The line alters the behavior of the JIT compiler, surpassing the bug, and all tracking and sports applications like mytracks, endomondo and every other one, now report accurate data in distance and speed.
The line you have to add is this:
I added it at the end of my buld.prop (caesar h7500+ with last zopo stock rom) after another line starting with dalvik. too, using es file explorer editor, no need to change file permissions with this software, but you need to be able to write system. This is how the end of my build.prop is now:
GPS Tracking app recs

I need a gps tracking app that actually works and gives accurate locations. Have tried GPS tracker, life 360, and real time gps tracker. real time is far to complex. The others are tied together and will give locations 15 miles from where the phone is actually at. Don't mind paying for an app that really works. Must noy be dependent on phone signal strength.
GPS Tracking Issue Bug Glitch
location: droidradar.com - date: January 25, 2012
I've searched here but did not find any reports of the Rezound's GPS being buggy. JogTracker Pro and Endomondo Pro both are recording erroneous distances that average roughly about 0.25 mile more than the actual distance. For instance, after I have walked approximately 0.75 mile, both programs will record that I have walked 1.0 mile, give or take twenty or so feet. It varies each time.
The error is cumulative too. My normal walking distance is about 4.6 to 4.7 miles. The programs show a total distance anywhere from 6.6 to 7.2 miles. The maps generated by the programs also show irregular intervals of erroneous reads no where near the walking course. Sorta like running from home base to first base to second base to center field then to third base and then home. Crude example!
My previous phone was a Droid2 which I still have. Endomondo Pro worked fine on it but I did not purchase JogTracker Pro until after I upgraded to the Rezound. I have repeatedly measured my walking cou

rom for dedicated gps tracking
location: droidmania.com - date: April 28, 2012
Been doing alot of hiking/running lately and want to bring my original droid back to life as a gps logger. It won't be used for phone service, only for GPS and a few apps such as google tracks and maybe maps. I've already ordered a Droid2 extended battery, but I think this might be extended further with the right rom/kernel or apps to manage power. I don't care if operating it is like a slideshow so long as it logs for many hours.. any recommendations on what to try?
Cooking GPS tracking into a ROM ???
location: droidmania.com - date: October 2, 2011
OK I want to put tracking software in my phone. so if someone steals it I can find them and make them pay with a nice free trip in a shiny car with blinking red and blue lights :-)
anyway crooks are starting to smarten up. ie turn the phone off and "hard reset" the phone before using.
SO once a phone is rooted we can install custom roms. HOW about cooking GPS tracking software (silent in the background software) that is pre programmed RIGHT INTO the rom so even if they hard reset on initial boot up my phone will "check in" and tell me where it is.
Suggestions on how to do this? I would like to do this with my Prevail and my Evo and later the transform if I get that unit.
should be a way to program it so it can "do this" automatically without any programming IE cook the programming in.
Recommended app for GPS tracking of Kid's Android phones?
location: droidradar.com - date: June 23, 2010
Can anyone recommend a good app to keep track of my teenagers location?
Whole familiy has Android phones, and it would be great for safety reasons to know where the kids happen to be.
Free would be good, but reasonably priced OK too.
Appreciate the advice,
[Q] GPS Tracking Accuracy Poor
location: androidpark.com - date: May 14, 2013
I have been having GPS accuracy problems with my Verizon HTC Incredible 4G LTE for a month and a half. It does not accurately measure distances using tracking apps such as Runkeeper. I have used Runkeeper for over 2 years including 2 years with my original Incredible first generation and the measurement was ALWAYS accurate. I upgraded to the Incredible 4G the last week of February 2013. A month later, the GPS began inaccurate tracking (it was accurate for the first month). I tried other tracking programs such as MapMyRun and they were also inaccurate. Using Google Maps, the accuracy is reported within 3 meters usually. Verizon reluctantly agreed to send me a new (reconditioned) phone and which I have had for almost a month. Of the 20 runs I have done with it, only one tracked accurately. Not sure why as the settings were the same as the run before and the run after which were both inaccurate. I have tried 5 different run tracking apps including Garmin Fit which does not use G
