Bug: Emoji dictionary does not install 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
location: droidradar.com - date: April 21, 2013
With Android 4.1.2, the DROID Bionic is now able to see emoji natively. However, users are cannot input emoji on their own.
Note, method to install/activate emoji input on other Android 4.1 devices - Go into SettingsTap Language & inputTap on Android keyboard settingsTap on Add-on dictionariesTap on Emoji for English wordsTap on Install
When you type certain keywords, a corresponding emoji icon is supposed to appear. On the DROID Bionic, this does not occur.
After installing, the "Emoji for English words" option may disappear. If you exit and return to the dictionaries menu, the "Emoji for English words" option may again appear to be installed.
I believe this also affects the DROID RAZR and DROID 4.

I have Java SE Developement Kit 7, and the latest version of Eclipse for my OS. On the site for downloading the Android SDK, there is a bundle that has Eclipse IDE. Do I need this, or do I need to find the Android SDK without Eclipse IDE.
"Jellybean" Software Update was a TERRIBLE Decision, Want "Ice Cream Sandwich" Back..
location: droidradar.com - date: November 28, 2012
I have never had a smart phone before about 6 months ago - and finally got used to this one.
Anyway, I was prompted for a software update yesterday evening. Didn't think much of it, hit update, waited the ~15mins and reboot time.
Nevertheless, I was SHOCKED when the phone was functional again:
It was literally like a whole new phone. I made a list and could name NUMEROUS things I absolutely hated about it. I am an incredibly particular person as well (and obsessive compulsive.) Notably, the OK and Cancel buttons were flipped in various screens - WHO DESIGNED THIS AND CHANGES SUCH IMPORTANT BUTTONS ??
I was very close to throwing my phone out the car window.
Well the next day I immediately went to one local Verizon store, which informed me there was nothing they could do. I just wanted to go back in time, and erase the update I had done!!! Shouldn't be THAT difficult.....!!
He gave me LG customer service number, even though the problem seemed to be a DROID operating system one. T
Galaxy S5. Knox still in the software?
location: droidradar.com - date: February 5, 2014
Knox has been a pain in the neck for many people using the S3 and S4 on 4.3
Seems like Samsung is locking down their OS with Knox being in the bootloader.
Do you guys think we'll still see it in the S5? I'd love to have a standard edition and a Knox edition, that way anyone who needs the added security can pick it up at a cost of maybe $50/100 more.

S4 keyboards, learning words, and Personal Dictionary
location: droidradar.com - date: July 29, 2013
I had some questions about various S4 keyboards and how they dealt with learned words. Searching the web and various forums, I found a lot of frustration and some misinformation, so I tried to figure it out myself. Here's what I came up with for my Verizon Galaxy S4 after research and experimentation. Samsung Keyboard Does it learn new words?
Yes, automatically. If the new word conflicts with existing words (as often appears to be the case), it will take several uses of the new word (perhaps 5) to learn the word. Can you delete learned words?
Yes - when a learned word appears as a suggested option, press and hold the suggested word. A dialog pops up permitting you to remove the word. Swype Does it learn new words?
Yes, it learns new words automatically. Again, it may take a few uses. Can you delete learned words?
Yes - when a learned word appears as a suggested option, press and hold the suggested word. A dialog pops up permitting you to remove the word. You can also press

Any chance that motorola isnt done yet with updating this camera? The low light performance is just horrible.
Is that even fixable with software enhancements?
