Hello guys, could anybody help on finding the cheapest android device possible? I need about 50 devices which are going to be used as a QR code readers for my trainers. I have a guy who will write an application form me exactly the one I need. I need to monitor attendence of my clients who comes to outdoor places - trainings. The codes can be just stored in the device and then synchronised with our online system once on wifi. The needs are therefore: camera with autofocus, wifi, android OS. NO need for phone or such.(could be if its cheaper) I dont even need any other apps of feature in the device. I need just my personal QR code reader which I can give to my trainers. I was thinking Ipod Touch 4 (iOS will do as well) but apparently its useless as there is just tap to focus. Also I found Micromax A60 saying it has autofocus but then on some forums I found it has not. WHAT DO I DO? I am searching for it like two months at the moment. Price is right @ about 40-50 dollars. I can also use
QR Code Reader Android Contact API Issues
location: droidmania.com - date: July 13, 2011
Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab
OS: Android 2.2 (Froyo)
I have a problem when importing vCard QR Codes into my Android Tablet where the contact’s first and last name fields both go into the first name field and the entire address (street, city, state, zip) goes into the street field.
I have tried many different vCard QR Code encoders and I have tried several QR Code readers including QuickMark, i-nigma, QR Droid, and Barcode Scanner. They all have this problem.
As a test, I copied the vCard data I am trying to turn into a QR Code to my Android device and did a direct vCard import from the Contacts app on the device. The vCard was imported properly, the name and address field was parsed as it should be. This tells me that the data in the QR Code is correct.
I emailed the QR Code Reader folks and the was told in the forums for Barcode Scanner that this is a 'known issue' with the Android API for the Contact app.
I wanted to post over here as well to see if anyone

Looking for INLINE QR code reader app
location: droidmania.com - date: December 19, 2012
While reading web pages or email on the Android phone, I occasionally encounter QR codes that I need to be able to decode inline somehow, such as starting an app that will allow me to pinch a screen section containing the code.
There are many apps that use the camera to scan, but I need to be able to read codes that are displayed on the device's screen, please.
Does anyone know of such an app? Ideally it would have a counterpart for iPhones, Android, etc. for different message recipients to read the same code.
Locating QR And Bar Code Apps That Came With Moto X
location: droidradar.com - date: January 5, 2014
Device: Motorola Moto X
OS: Kit Kat
Issue: A few days ago, while investigating my new Moto X phone, I happened upon the ability to scan bar codes and, I believe, QR codes, using the camera. I had not downloaded any such apps and they must have been part of the system that came with the phone.
Of course, I have forgotten how to locate those functions.
Can anyone advise where I can find them on my phone?

[Q] QR Code Reader [Module]?? is this available for development?
location: androidpark.com - date: September 10, 2010
Hello everyone.........I have an idea to create an Android App....and one of it's function is to read QR Codes... so..
Is it easy to "include" a QR Code Reader as in, to be precise... is it as easy as just including a module which will do everything.. or will my developer have to code it from scratch ?
Are there any licensing process regarding this ?
How easy is it to develop this on other Smartphone (iPhones, Blackberry) Platforms ?
Thank you in advance!!!
QR code reader: Bing vs. LG (and Bing OCR)
location: androidpark.com - date: July 20, 2011
Was just trying out the Bing QR code reader. Although it seems better than all the ones in Marketplace, IMO it does not come close to the LG QR code reader.
While we are on the topic, the Bing OCR seems to suck. In my use so far, it has always garbled everything up.
What is a qr code?
location: droidmania.com - date: February 9, 2011
Still being a noob to Android and the phones it is on, what is a qr code? How does it work? I see some apps in the market (searching on the web from my computer, not from a phone) that have qr codes and some that don't. What is this all about? Thanks for your assistance.
