(rice treatment?) Funny til it happens phone under water
location: droidradar.com - date: March 7, 2012
A family member called - she submerged her DINC 2 in water.
I saw that a rice treatment was posted on these boards earlier. I suppose I submerge the battery in uncooked rice without (?) the battery cover on it? Or, is the battery cover supposed to be on before I dunk it in rice?

Anybody have any ideas on what is wrong? Everything is working fine with the exception of the talk back.
If somebody tells me to check that my media volume is on they will be kicked in the nuts.

The Fuzzy Treatment: State of the Xoom Today.

So, the Xoom has been released and is in the hands of the masses. O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! The first 4G tablet in Verizon's line released to the world + dog. The first "full" 4G device in Verizon's lineup released period since the Thunderbolt is still floating somewhere in the clouds, waiting to strike as soon as that pesky battery problem is worked out.
But wait, there's more. Even if you live in an area with 4G/LTE, have a contract, and your tablet shows a lovely 4-bar signal, you're still out of luck using LTE -- you're on the vanilla, plain, boring, ordinary 3G network.
Wait a minute, what?
It's true. Verizon and Motorola are shipping the 4G version of the Xoom without 4G capability. Doesn't
Samsung Galaxy Nexus to get White treatment
location: droidfarm.com - date: January 5, 2012
Seems to be a growing trend in high end smartphones nowadays. The iPhone, RAZR and Galaxy SII have gotten the white treatment so it's only fitting the Samsung Galaxy would see the same. The white Galaxy Nexus is expected to drop in the first half of February, and U.K. retailer Clove is already taking pre-orders.
There are no images of the phone yet and there is no word of a Verizon version hitting the shelves anytime soon. As with anything, if Verizon decides to carry a white version we'll let you know.
Would you purchase a white version of this phone? Let us know.

It's super-tablet news-day in the forums this rainy Wednesday morning. Here's another tablet story to follow-up the last. This one is an iFixit teardown of the new HTC-made Google Nexus 9 Android 5.0 lollipop tablet. Interesting, they figured out that the device has the same camera module found in the HTC Desire 610 smartphone.
Ultimately the device scored a lowly 3 out of 10 on repairability, but that is probably to be expected considering how tightly integrated HTC tends to pack their devices. Here's a final summary from the article,
Nexus 9 Repairability: 3 out of 10 (10 is easiest to repair)
The rear case is secured with clips, so it can be easily removed without heat or tools (just don't lose your rear-facing camera).
The battery is easy to get to, but glued in place. Thankfully, the adhesive is not so strong as to require heat to separate.
The interior is a maze of tape and thin, delicate cables, making disassembly and reassembly dif

The folks at iFixit got their hands on one of Google's new Nexus 7 tablets and they did what they do best. They took it apart and photographed its innards in graphic detail. The device garners a "repairability score" of 7 out of 10 from iFixit, which is just one less than the 8 out of 10 that the Kindle Fire received. The techs over there really do an amazing job of walking us through every detail. The pics and descriptions contained within the 21-page guide are both informative and entertaining. So, prior to updating to 4.3, when I gave Google Now specific verbal commands, it would return back with a synthesized voice. I notice that google now stopped doing that recently, following the update.
I currently have s-voice disabled, and google text-to-speech is on the phone.
