[APP][FREE]Android App to detect malware with bad permissions
location: droidradar.com - date: March 11, 2014
A few months ago, I wrote a post about an flashlight application that could subscribe to premium SMS services without cost permissions.
Only Permissions: Internet, get user accounts and Read SMS
Malware get the telephone number from whatsup and telegram account.
I develop a free and simple app for:
* - Detect these permissions in installer apps.
* - Notify if any of these applications are installing in real time.
* - Mark Trusted apliaciones. (exclude facebook, etc...)
Also this app is helping us to obtain data about the existence of these malware to try to make a blacklist. View ubication etc..
Google services and apps running slow and bad.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 from T-Mobile which I bought in July, I was working perfecly until all started to go slow for any reason (a month later).
I had to do a Factory Reset and then all got back to normal.
But now I'm having a big ISSUE, on WIFI i'm not able to see videos on youtube and look up for directions in Google Maps' app, but when I change to 3G I get my Maps directions really quick.
WIFI is perfectly working on my computer and on the mobile web browser which is Google Chrome.
It only seems to affect YouTube and Maps.
[Q] Gesture Typing and "bad" words
location: androidpark.com - date: December 6, 2012
I have a Nexus 4 running stock 4.2.1 (rooted) and here is my issue with the gesture typing and predictive text. Anytime I try to use a word that google apparently believes is not appropriate like "****" I have to stop and and type it out. Mind you that spell check does not think it's a misspelled word so there is no option to add it to the User Dictionary. It just will not show up as an option for either predictive text or gesture typing. Obviously these words have somehow been identified in google's stock dictionary so that they are not part of the pool of suggested words - probably along the lines of how the auto-complete of google searches are now censored.
Does anybody have a workaround for this? It's incredibly annoying and I don't like the fact that google is dictating what standard English words can and cannot be part of gesture typing.
One thought I had was that the stock dictionary probably has those words marked with a simple boolean flag, so if someb

Hey guys. I was unable to find my phone in the list but its the sch-s738c Centura that I got at Walmart throughaTracfone and I have had it for several months now but only within the past few weeks have the problems gotten quite so bad. The web browser is constantly freezing or crashing, sometimes I can't unlock it because it won't even register as powered on, even if its charging, and often times the phone itself just freeze up. I have done everything I can think if to change this but all to no avail. Can anyone tell me what is going on? Is it a bad phone or am I just not doing all I can to make this machine work more efficiently?
If anyone can help me I would be very grateful. Thank you.
HOW TO: troubleshoot bad battery life with logcat
location: droidmania.com - date: February 4, 2010
What is logcat?
Logcat is the command to view the internal logs of the Android system. Viewing logs is often the best way to diagnose a problem, and is required for many issues. This way you'll find out what apps are doing in the background without you noticing.
How do I install it?
1. Make sure you've enabled on USB debugging on your phone in Settings -> Application -> Development
2. Get the Android SDK here: Android SDK | Android Developers
3. Extract the folder to C:\Android\ (using this path in this example, you can extract it where you would like)
4. Download this file: RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting and extract the 'usb_driver' folder to C:\Android\
5. Connect the phone with the USB cable
6. Windows will ask for the drivers
If you have WinXP follow these steps: USB Driver for Windows | Android Developers
If you have Win7 or Vista follow these steps: USB Driver for Windows | Android Developers
The folder you need to browse to for the driver is
Repair Corrupt, Bad or Incorrect MEID/ESN Number (Android CDMA Smartphones Maybe GSM devices too)
location: droidmania.com - date: July 6, 2012
This example is for the Samsung SCH-R720 (Vitality, Metro PCS, Generic etc.) but the same methodology can probably be applied across most android brands/ models.
If your MEID/ESN is incorrect/ corrupt you may experience one or more of the following:
* You are receiving MEID/ESN error messages
* Your OS may also not work correctly i.e. screen doesnt turn off, lock screen doesnt work, certains apps and widgets may force close themselves or cause the launcher to force close. Different phones may behave in different ways.
* The following or similar text is displayed on your launcher screen (attached screenshot1, screenshot2)
CHANNEL : 30600
SIO MODE : U1_DM USB2_NULL
S/W Version : SCH-R720.****
Baseband Ver: S:R720.00 x.****
H/W Version : H:R720.00 x.*
* Disruption is caused to your cell/ data/ mms service.
You can also type *#06# in your dialer to see your MEID information. They should be 14 digits long. If its mainly full of zeros its probably corrupt (mine was B000000). A h

Jellybean update for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 is bad.
location: androidpark.com - date: March 25, 2013
Hi everyone, I have recently updated my Galaxy Note N7000 to jellybean through kies. And the phone now is smooth in screen transactions and lot of new features added to Touchwiz, but the phone has become too slow, laggy and unresponsive. Is it happening with every Galaxy Note user or is it just me?
I mean, even the phone app is taking around 5 seconds to load, and sometimes after a call is disconnected the phone dial pad is shown broken, battery backup is reduced now. Black clipping issue still there and for me it looks like it has even become worse now. The back button has become too unrespinsive compared to working on ICS, I mean the back button takes effect after nearly 2 seconds after pressing which was not there in ICS.
Seeing all these issues I feel jellybean is not a worthy upgrade compared to ICS when we see the mobiles working. But jellybean itself is too good to see with new Touchwiz.
Is it happening only with me or is it same to every Galaxy Note N7000 user out there?
[Q] Android JNI problem. Bad build tools?
location: androidpark.com - date: June 17, 2011
Hello, XDA. This is my first post.
Before I start out looking like I'm helpless, and keeping with the mindset that I don't expect something for nothing, I've spent the time to write up newbie-friendly guides:
(edit: Apparently, I have to make eight posts before I can post external links) I will probably accumulate eight posts in this thread, and will edit this at that point.)Adding OpenVPN and liblzo to the AOSP source tree and compiling a kernel to support it. Includes instructions for patching OpenSSL1.0.0a to enable engine support.
Wrangling with USB permissions
Making a custom boot animation from an animated gif
If it would be better to have the content located on the forum somewhere, tell me where it ought to go.
I am trying to roll my own ROM from AOSP (Gingerbread 2.3.4). I have been successfully building images and even kernels for the Nexus S for several weeks now. Recently, I broke something.
I've beat my head against this for three days now. I think I
